Former Senate President graduates from Harvard Kennedy School

A former Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has completed the ‘Leadership in Crises’ executive education programme at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Having completed the five-day course at the prestigious institution, the former Senate President said he feels honoured to have participated in the world-class programme which has deepened his understanding of crisis management and leadership resilience.

He also said that, as a leaders, taking this course has opened him up to the essence and strategic decision-making in emergencies.

A statement issued by Ezrel Tabiowo, the media aide to the former Senate President, quoted Lawan as saying, “I am honoured to have participated in this world-class programme, which provided critical insights into navigating today’s complex and unpredictable challenges.

“From public health crises and natural disasters to infrastructure failures and technological disruptions, leaders must be equipped with the right skills to respond effectively under pressure,” Lawan said.

He added that the former Senate President and some other global leaders through the institution’s case-study methodology successfully examined real-world crises and understood principles of cross-boundary collaboration, situational awareness, and decisive leadership in crisis mitigation.

The former Senate President while appreciating the Kennedy School, the members of the faculty and his cohort for the experienced garnered during the programme promised to apply the knowledge gained in serving his constituents and the nation as a whole.
