Manchester United is desperate to sign a top-class striker like Osimhen amid concerns over those already at their disposal.
The 26-year-old Napoli striker is halfway through a season-long loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray scoring 14 goals.
Osimhen’s deal back at Napoli contains a layered release clause. He can reportedly be signed for €90m/£75m and that figure drops to €75m/£62m from the summer onwards.
Osimhen had already declared his intention to fulfill his dream of playing in the English Premier League, with a possible move to Manchester United. But that dream of playing in EPL may not be for the Old Trafford club as his camp told ThePapers that other two big clubs have shown interest in Osimhen demanding Champions League football with a high pay rise that could rank him among the league’s earners.
“We are carefully studying several offers for him, he will play in EPL for sure, Victor’s dream to wear the Manchester United jersey remains steady but only if the club can fulfill his dream of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League and offer him a huge salary,” Osimhen’s camp disclosed to ThePapers.
“For now, he’s not thinking about movement, Galatasaray has shown him, love, he’s looking for ways to pay back with trophies and goals.”
Asked to name the two EPL clubs in the race to sign the Nigerian striker, he said: “Yesterday, Liverpool representatives were in Turkey to watch him but something bigger could break out before the end of next week.
