Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has cried out to the public for support after being forced out of her home by her landlady, despite being ready to renew her rent.
Naija News reports that she shared her situation during a live session on TikTok, explaining that she was evicted while still willing to pay for the house.
Halima also opened up about ongoing health challenges that have affected her career and daily life.
She previously revealed that she is battling a serious illness, and in her posts, she admitted to using social media filters to hide the full effect of her condition.
She described her struggle to find support for her medical care, saying she had sought help from individuals and institutions, including the Kogi state government, without success.
The 39-year-old actress has been inactive in the film industry for several years due to her health.
She also shared that she sold personal items to cover medical costs.
“People are confused about what is going on. I am not feeling well up until now. I am just good at being strong and pretending that I am okay. This is me, but every day you see me post a picture with a filter. That is a filter on TikTok, not me. This is how I look. Help me, I’m tired of begging people. Please tag Kogi state government”, she appealed.
Halima’s health issues have been a topic of public discussion for some time.
She was previously suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria in 2024 after allegations of defaming colleagues and other high-profile individuals.
She later apologised to Apostle Johnson Suleman, admitting to false claims made against him.
