Former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, has broken his silence following the recent tragic crash involving his associates, expressing grief, faith and sympathy for the families of the victims.
The victims of the fatal accidents were his friends, Sina Ghami and Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele.
Their funeral prayers were held on Sunday at the London Central Mosque.
The prayers drew large crowds of mourners, including members of the Nigerian and British communities, friends, and associates who gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased.

“Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers,” Joshua wrote.

He reflected on his relationship with the victims, noting that he did not fully grasp their significance while they were alive.
“I didn’t even realise how special they are. I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men,” he said.
Joshua acknowledged the personal toll of the incident but emphasised that the pain borne by the victims’ families was far greater.
“100% it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents,” he wrote.
The boxer also expressed his faith, stating his belief that God understood the hearts of those lost.
“I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts,” Joshua said.
He concluded the message with a prayer for mercy.
