Nigerian songstress Tiwa Savage has shared how her son, Jamil Balogun, was able to meet popular American YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed during his recent visit to Nigeria.
Naija News reports that Tiwa was not in the country at the time, but her son contacted her and asked for help to make the meeting possible.
She later posted a photo of Jamil standing with the US streamer and shared part of their chat, where the young boy begged her to arrange the meeting while she was away in Davos.
She also joked about the stress involved and thanked some friends and event organisers who helped connect her son with the visiting celebrity.
Tiwa wrote: “Please, mommy, I know you can make me meet @IShowSpeed and I’m all the way in Darvos…”
She added with a laugh, “Omo see stress o. Thank you @shankcomics, @manlikescoop, @olakunbi.o, @bizzleosikoya, and @boldandbigevent.”
IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is currently touring several African countries under his Speed Does Africa tour, sharing his travels live on YouTube and Twitch.
His visit to Nigeria attracted large crowds as fans followed him to markets, tourist spots and food centres.
While in Lagos, the streamer marked his 21st birthday and celebrated reaching 50 million subscribers on YouTube, a major moment in his online career.
His stop in Nigeria has become one of the most talked-about parts of the tour, with many fans meeting him in person and following his journey online.
