IGP Reshuffles Police Command: New Heads Appointed to Cybercrime, SWAT, Interpol Units

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced a sweeping redeployment of Commissioners of Police (CPs) across key departments and formations, following a directive from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.

The postings were conveyed in a wireless message marked “Most/Immediate” from Force Headquarters, Abuja, directing affected officers to assume duty without delay.

According to the signal, Akan Ezima has been appointed Director of the Nigeria Police National Cybercrime Centre (NPNCC) in Abuja, while Abbas Sule has been redeployed to head the Special Protection Unit (SPU) at Force Headquarters.

Ajo Geofrey Ordue was posted to Interpol at Force Headquarters, and Mnwadiogbu Cletus named Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy.

Danjuma I. Yahaya has been assigned to oversee General Investigation at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Kaduna, while Sheik M. Danko was posted to the Force Intelligence Department (FID) Annex in Lagos.

Ojugbene E. Adebola was redeployed to General Investigation at FCID Alagbon, and Fidelis N. Ogarabe to Interpol Annex, Lagos.

The reshuffle also saw Moses Ashu Ottah posted to the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit in Abuja, while Abdulrahim A. Shuaibu was assigned to the Eastern Port Authority.

Preye R. Egbe was deployed to INEC headquarters in Abuja, while Adebisi Bola Lateef was posted to Master Printing in Lagos.

Sarah Ehindero has been assigned to Administration at FCID Abuja, while Edwin Ogbeghagha becomes Provost at Force Headquarters.

Theodore C. Obasi was appointed Deputy Commandant at the Police College, and Markus Ishaku Basiran posted to Courses at the Police Academy.

Bolou O. Etete has been redeployed to Community Policing under Research and Planning, while Magaji Ismaila was posted to Community Safety and Crime Prevention.

Silas Bamidele Aremu was assigned to Safer Highway operations, and Mohammed Babakura to Administration at the Department of Operations.

Eloho E. Okroziakro has been appointed to head the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Ikoyi, while Kayode Uthman Magaji was posted to the K9 unit in Dei-Dei.

Rebecca Uchenna Okereke was appointed Director of Music at Force Headquarters.

The wireless message directed all police formations to update their records in line with the new postings, emphasising the urgency of the redeployment.
