‘I’ll fight for my husband’s legacies with my last breath

Betty, the widow of the late Rotimi Akeredolu, a former governor of Ondo State has vowed to protect her husband’s legacies in the state.

Betty accused the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of planning to destroy her late husband’s effort towards leading the state on a path of growth.

Reacting to the recent commissioning of the Ondo Investment House and new fire trucks by the governor, the former First Lady said it was uncharitable for Aiyedatiwa to delay the distribution of the trucks.

In a post made on her personal X account, she said, “The most uncharitable act was the delay in distributing the fire trucks which were paid for and taken delivery while Aketi was alive.

“I knew when the delivery was made. Why keep them for over two years to score a cheap political point?

“I’m sure there were times when the services of those fire trucks were needed in the past two years. How callous can a governor get?” she said.

Adding that she had received several calls from Ondo women who inquired about the trucks, Betty also accused the governor of lying.

“As long as I’m alive, he won’t succeed in rubbishing Aketi’s legacies.

“If nobody fights, I will, for sure, with my last breath,” added.
