Instagram blogger Tunde Ednut has raised questions about the authority’s failure to apprehend former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello following fraud allegations pending against him at the Federal High Court in Abuja.... CLICK TO READ THE FULL NEWS HERE▶▶
The EFCC charged Bello with 19 counts of money laundering involving over N80 billion, which he allegedly diverted from the Kogi State Government’s treasury.
Since the filing of the charges, the commission has not been able to bring him to court for arraignment. Bello has also ignored six court sessions scheduled for his arraignment.
In response to his non-compliance, the Court of Appeal on Tuesday ordered the former governor to surrender himself for arraignment and reaffirmed the EFCC’s power to prosecute Yahaya Bello.
Tunde Ednut took to his Instagram page to question the former governor’s actions, asking if he believed himself to be above the country by failing to comply with court orders after allegedly diverting government funds.
He wrote, “Is Yahaya Bello bigger than Nigeria?
Is Yahaya Bello bigger than the President?
Is Yahaya Bello bigger than the EFCC?
Is Yahaya Bello bigger than the police?
Why is it so hard for them to invite him in to defend the N80,000,000,000 billion fraud allegations?”
