Kaduna governor revokes land titles, returns farmlands to owners

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has ordered the cancellation of all land titles covering farmlands in Gadan Gayan, Igabi Local Government Area, that were allocated to investors without proper approval.

The farmlands, located in Unguwar Mai Babban Doki, Unguwar Malamai, Dutsen Wakili, Unguwar Allah, Unguwar Manti and Unguwar Chindo along Jos Road, were reportedly taken from local farmers without compensation.

Following the governor’s directive, the farmlands will be returned to their original owners. Investors whose land titles have been revoked will be allocated alternative farmlands in other areas.

Speaking to residents of the affected communities, the Director-General of the Kaduna Geographic Information Service, Dr Bashir Garba Ibrahim, said the government understood the farmers’ hardship and had acted to protect their livelihoods.

“The government has listened to your concerns and acted to ensure justice and fairness by returning your farmlands so you can continue your farming activities,” he said.

The farmers welcomed the decision and thanked Governor Uba Sani, praising him for responding swiftly to their long-standing complaints.
