Kidnapped Afenifere Youth Leader Released

Eniola Olajuni, the National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, has been released after spending 12 days in captivity.

His freedom comes after intense efforts by security forces and appeals from concerned Nigerians.

His release was confirmed on Saturday by the National Secretary of the Youth Council, Biodun Aderohunmu, who sent a brief message to journalists stating, “He has been released.”

Olajuni was kidnapped on Monday, February 17, 2025, while on his way to Abuja for an important meeting.

His sudden disappearance had led to nationwide concern, especially after a disturbing video emerged, showing him at gunpoint, pleading for help.

The kidnappers initially demanded 100 million naira and two tricycles as ransom for his release.
