Speaking during an interview with DCL Hausa, Yankaba noted that both Kwankwaso and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf no longer belong to the NNPP.
Kwankwaso led some key members of the party in changing its logo to a book symbol. Yankaba claims the Kano state government was elected under the original party, urging the leaders to come together and work for the advancement of the party.
He further pointed out that a court in Abia State, on November 1, 2024, had confirmed Boniface’s faction as the legitimate leadership of the party, ruling that he was the founder and the rightful leader.
The court also annulled the activities that had taken place before, including the logo change and the election of new leaders. So, as it stands, Kwankwaso and Abba do not have a political party.
“We have conducted elections at various levels, and we stand with the original NNPP with the fruit logo. We call on everyone, especially those who care about Kano, to return to our party,” said Musa Nuhu Yankaba said.
