Labour Party aspirant withdraws over primary irregularities

The governorship aspirant for Labour Party in Anambra State, John Nwosu has announced his withdrawal from the race.

Citing irregularities at the scheduled primary election of the party, Nwosu said there were no delegates present at the congress.

The event was scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in Akwa, the capital city of Anambra State.

In a statement issued on Friday, Nwosu said  he withdrew from the governorship election to maintain his integrity and remain true to his values.

“There was no delegates congress of the party held in any of the 21 local government areas of the state to elect the delegates to vote at the primary election and a list of delegates eventually emerged and pasted at the state headquarters of the party in Awka, just about eight hours to the D-Day, Saturday, April 5, 2025,” Nwosu said.
