Natasha receives heroic welcome in Kogi central, insists she is breaking no law

Despite a government-imposed ban on rallies and public gatherings, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was met with a jubilant reception on Tuesday as she returned to her hometown in Kogi Central.

As early as 8 a.m., supporters from the five local government areas under her senatorial district converged on the Ihima community in Okehi Local Government Area (LGA).

Undeterred by security restrictions, they gathered in anticipation, eager to welcome their embattled representative.

The air buzzed with excitement as local musicians took turns entertaining the crowd.

Then, in a grand entrance, Akpoti-Uduaghan arrived in a white helicopter, her presence instantly igniting thunderous cheers and applause.

She stated that her insistence on visiting the area is because, “she is breaking no law.”

Speaking on her recall process, the senator said: “What I see INEC doing is aiding and guiding petitioners on how to perfect their illicit acts.”

On efforts to stop her from visiting the area, she said: “Nobody and nothing can stop me from coming home. I’m an Ebira woman; this is my land. I’m the daughter of the late Jimoh Abdul Akpoti. I know my roots; I’m not a bastard, and I’m not afraid of anybody.”
