Buba’s death occurred on Saturday, June 7, close to Kawo flyover bridge.
The officer, a student of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, was attempting to fix a flat tyre on his vehicle when an armed thief demanded his phone from him.
He was said to have declined, which provoked the thief to stab him in the chest, leading to his death.
Report added that a local vigilante member who tried to arrest the thief was also stabbed by him in the hand.
Further information has it that the scene attracted angry mob’s attention and they stormed there, overpowered him and lynched him to death.
