The former lawmaker while encouraging those in the diaspora to work towards improving on the remittances to their home country said Nigeria is also open to foreign investors.
In a statement issued on Sunday, April 14, the NiDCOM chairman said the Nigerian government has successfully created an environment that all kinds of investors desire.
Her remarks are a reaction to a petition by leaders and members of the Foreign Investors Network (FIN) led by its President Ifeoma Nkengwu, and tits Country Representative, Emmanuel Olorunmagba.
FIN in the petition alleged that the Nigerian environment is toxic and not suitable enough for investors, especially with the demolition of properties in Okun Ajah, Lagos by the Minister of Works, Sen. Dave Umahi.
According to the duo, Winhomes Global Services Limited risks losing an investment of a whopping sum of over $250 million in real estate in Okun Ajah following the decision of the minister.
Go this Dabiri-Erewa said, “We acknowledge their reach out to NIDCOM, months after the whole issue had become a sensational media affair. We had begun an investigation into the matter and had some officials visit the site.
“However, unfortunately, we discovered that the matter is currently in court and we can only wait for the court ruling,” she said.
She also noted that the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) will continue to serve as a viable channel for those in the diaspora to invest.
