During the game on Sunday, August 25, Wolves’ fans booed him, especially at the start of the encounter, but amidst that, he was one of the brightest stars on the pitch.

Madueke was so prolific and unstoppable that despite the hostilities, he managed to score his first hat-trick for Chelsea and secured an overwhelming 6-2 victory for the West London club.

Following his exceptional performance against Wolves, Madueke promptly apologized for bashing the town, as he described his initial Instagram post, which he has deleted, as a “human mistake”.

“I just want to apologise to everyone that I might have offended”, the England Under-21 international said. “It is just a human mistake, an accident. It wasn’t meant to be out on my socials like that. I’m sure Wolverhampton is a nice town and I’m sorry.

“It was a mistake and you learn from those things. Hopefully, nothing like that will happen again.

“In terms of the boos, I expected it but it is part of the game. You have to be able to play under that sort of pressure.”
