Barely 24 hours after his reinstatement as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa held a closed-door meeting with his re-elected deputy, Mojisola Meranda.
Politics Nigeria gathered that the meeting took place on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex.
The meeting which was also attended by other lawmakers of the House was aimed at reconciling all parties involved in the crisis that rocked the Assembly following the impeachment of Obasa on January 13.
Sources said the members of the legislature gathered at the complex at about 2 pm for the meeting.
According to the source, the reconciliation meeting is aimed at pacifying some of the lawmakers, especially those who stood with Meranda during her short time as Speaker of the House.
The source also stated that there is a possibility that the newly re-elected speaker will withdraw the suit he earlier filed against Meranda and the Lagos State lawmakers who were part of his impeachment.
