The 20-year-old has linked up with Scott Lindsey’s side this weekend, and will be available for selection for Saturday’s match against Blackpool.

The young shot-stopper follows Alfie Gilchrist, Andrey Santos, and Aaron Anselmino in leaving the club this week after the decision was made that the best thing for the lad and his development will be more game time away from the club

Crawley posted on the club website: ‘Beach signed for CHELSEA in June 2022 after he impressed during his time with fellow Premier League side Southampton. He featured regularly for Chelsea’s development squad in the first half of the 2022/23 season, making 14 appearances before heading out on loan to National League South side Chelmsford City in January 2023.

‘Beach made 11 appearances for Chelsea Under-21s in the first half of the 2023/24 season, and was also named on the bench for several mens first-team squad fixtures. For the second half of the season, Eddie moved to Gateshead, but his time with the Tynesiders was interrupted due to illness. Beach has just returned from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America.

‘Welcome to the Reds, Eddie!

The 20-year-old suffered an injury shortly after completing his move away last term, which hampered his progression, and only played one National League game after being ruled out for a month, so The step up to League One follows an impressive rise for the English-born gloveman.

This is a very good decision to make from the CHELSEA board as he will not be developing sitting on the bench – he needs to be playing football on a weekly basis and should get that at Crawley.
