Nigerian rap icon Olamide has revealed the unexpected way Wizkid came to feature on Billionaires Club, one of the standout tracks from his latest album, Olamidé.
In a recent chat with media personality Adesope Shopsydoo, Olamide explained that the original plan was for Wizkid to only appear on Kai!. But things took a different turn while they were filming the video for that song.
“We didn’t plan it that way,” Olamide said. “It was just supposed to be Kai!. While we were on set for the video, I played him a few songs from the album. He liked Billionaires Club and said he wanted to jump on it.”
That spontaneous decision gave fans a second Olamide and Wizkid collaboration on the same project. The track, which also features British-Nigerian artist Darkoo, has since become a fan favorite, with its video pulling in millions of views online.
The story highlights the easy chemistry between Olamide and Wizkid, two stars whose friendship and collaborations go back over a decade to their 2011 classic Omo To Shan.
Released on June 19, 2025, Olamide’s Olamidé album has been praised for blending different sounds while keeping his signature lyrical depth, and the surprise Wizkid feature remains one of its biggest talking points.
