Onanuga says ‘Liar’ as Ted Cruz, Bill Maher move to end ‘Christian Genocide’
Texas Senator Ted Cruz has urged the US Congress to move his Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act to push back against the Nigerian officials allowing attacks on Christian communities.
Cruz has been vocal about claims of an ongoing Christian genocide in Nigeria, accusing officials of the country of allowing it to happen.
In a new post on X, he reacted to TV show host Bill Maher saying their campaign against Christian genocide in Nigeria has gained momentum.
Maher said, “The fact that this issue hasn’t gained public attention is amazing.”
Reacting, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, called Maher a “Liar”.
Reacting to Maher’s post, Cruz wrote, “Enough is enough. Congress should move my Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act to push back against the Nigerian officials behind these atrocities.”
Meanwhile, US Congressman representing West Virginia’s 2nd District in Congress, Riley Moore, has said President Bola Tinubu must protect Christians from being slaughtered in Nigeria.
Moore said this in reaction to a post from a social media user revealing how the Nigerian Army dismissed claims of a planned attack by Fulani militia.
@MgajiInnocent said, “Yesterday Reverend Ezekiel DACHOMO raised an alarm about planned Fulani attack on his community Plateau State.
“I was surprised when the Nigerian Army released a full press statement accusing him of raising false alarm instead of massively deploying troops to secure the villages.
“Well, they are burying over 15 bodies today, this morning as I write.
“It will be hard to convince the people in the Plateaux that there is no planned genocide against the region.”
Reacting, Rep Moore slammed the Nigerian government for dismissing the threat alert instead of protecting Christians.
He said on X, “Our brothers and sisters in Christ are being slaughtered in Nigeria. Just yesterday, another 15 were murdered by the Fulani.
“The local pastor warned Nigerian officials ahead of the attack. Instead of protecting Christians, the Nigerian government chose to accuse the pastor of spreading lies.
“@officialABAT, enough is enough. You must protect the Christians being slaughtered in your country.”
