Ondo University Expels 15 Female Students Over S3x Video Offences

Achievers University in Owo, Ondo State, has expelled at least 15 female students for making sex videos, an act the institution stated contravenes its rules and demonstrates gross indiscipline. The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Bode Ayorinde, announced the dismissals during a matriculation ceremony for 936 new students.

He warned that the university has zero tolerance for such behaviour, along with bullying, drug abuse, and issuing threats. Ayorinde also disclosed that 17 students were dismissed in 2025 for fraudulently obtaining exam clearance, and three others were expelled for dealing in hard drugs.

Key Points

The expulsions enforce a strict moral and disciplinary code, resulting in the immediate termination of the affected students’ academic careers and financial investment.
They serve as a severe punitive and deterrent measure, signalling the institution’s commitment to its stated values over individual conduct.
The expelled students face significant personal and educational setbacks, while the university seeks to protect its reputation and enforce a controlled campus environment.
The public announcement reflects a growing trend of Nigerian institutions taking a hardline stance against behaviours amplified by social media and perceived as damaging to institutional image.
Made during a matriculation ceremony, the timing explicitly sets disciplinary expectations for new students at the outset of their university experience.

The university’s decisive action underscores its prioritization of discipline and institutional reputation, establishing clear boundaries for student conduct in the digital age.
