In a recent interview with QEDNG’s publisher, Olumide Iyanda, Patrick clarified that he harbours no animosity against Ireti following their divorce.
The sixty-three-year-old also talked about a 2018 Facebook post that seemed to be an apology to Ireti.
According to Patrick Doyle, Ireti is a good woman who takes care of their children very well and as such he could never wish harm to befall her.
He said, “Ireti is a first-class mother and provider for her children. She is taking good care of my daughter. How can I wish her ill? As far as mothers go, they don’t come any better. She provides 360 mothering care.
“As a man, it is my duty to say you don’t look happy. Responsibility for the stability of the home is that of the head of the home. So that was a bid to ease whatever the tensions were at the time,” he said.
Ireti, who is 57, and Patrick were married in 2004 after the actor lost his first wife to sickle cell anaemia, but the actress announced their separation in 2023.
Their union was blessed with five children.
