Paul Onuachu’s scorpion goal tipped to win goal of the year in the world

Abdullah Avci, the coach of Trabzonspor of Turkey has claimed that Paul Onuachu’s goal against Konyaspor on Friday could win Puskas award.

Puskas award is always given to a player who scores the best goal in the world in a particular season.

Recall that Onuachu scored a spectacular winner for Trabzonspor to beat the visitors 2-1 on Friday night at the Papara park.

The ball was ahead of Onuachu inside the box, but he somehow jumped and extended one of his long legs to connect in spectacular fashion beyond the Konyaspor goalkeeper in the 85th minute.

“I congratulate Onuachu; his second goal may be the goal of the year. It was a very rare goal,” Avci told reporters.

“I have no doubt about the good will of the team. We need to go further by increasing our energy and improving our game.”

The 29-year-old has scored six goals in eight league appearances for the Blue Burgundy.
