PDP is bigger than any individual, says Bayelsa governor

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is greater than any individual and that internal challenges can be resolved if members commit to addressing them.

Speaking at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja after inaugurating the party’s South-South Zonal Caretaker Committee led by Elder Emma Ogidi, Diri stressed that the responsibility for resolving internal disputes lies with party members, not just its leadership.

“For me, we have to look inwards before accusing those outside our party. The PDP must first fix its internal issues before it can compete with others,” he said.

As the Chairman of the South-South PDP Governors Forum, Diri emphasized the need for unity and discipline within the party, stating that no one is bigger than the PDP.

He affirmed that the newly inaugurated zonal caretaker committee has the mandate to address issues affecting the party in the South-South region.

“With four PDP governors in the South-South, we have resolved to work together to strengthen the party,” he added.

Diri expressed confidence that this move would solidify PDP’s position in the region and nationwide.
