‘People pay youths N20,000 to cause confusion in Nigeria,’ Peter Obi alleges

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has alleged that some unnamed people pay Nigerian youths as low as N20,000 and N40,000 to cause confusion in the nation’s political ecosystem.

Speaking on ‘Politics and Change in Nigeria’ at the John Hopkins University in the United States of America, Obi said the youths have been deceived into fighting those who mean well for them.

He urged Nigerian youths to desist from collecting money, especially peanuts to damage their bright future and seek better ways to infuse transactional politics for their good and the nation’s.

Obi said, “So, people pay them to cause confusion, as I am here now, go to social media, all those that are been paid N20,000, N40,000 monthly to abuse you are youths who you are fighting for their lives.

“I am almost 60 and I have just few years to go but you can get it right in the transactional politics of Nigeria,” the former Anambra State governor said.
