PFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR NOMINEES
Manchester City’s dominance is clear with three of their stars as they were the Champions of England for the fourth consecutive time after being crowned champions of the 2023/2024 EPL season,—Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Rodri—making the shortlist for the Men’s PFA . They are joined by Arsenal’s dynamic midfielder Martin Ødegaard, Chelsea’s man-of-the-moment Cole Palmer, and Aston Villa’s forward Ollie Watkins.
The final list of the Top six player of the year award nominees was announced on Tuesday, August 13, by PFA official X social media account.
In the Young Player of the Year category, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer continues his impressive run, competing against notable talents including Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo. Also in the mix are Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, and Brighton’s João Pedro.
Women’s Player Of The Year Nominees And Young Player Of The Year Nominees
The women’s categories reflect strong performances from Chelsea and Manchester City, each club boasting three nominees. For the Women’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year, the shortlist includes Chelsea’s Niamh Charles, Erin Cuthbert, and Lauren James, alongside Manchester City’s Yui Hasegawa, Lauren Hemp, and Khadija Shaw.
The Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year nominees also highlight emerging talent, with Chelsea’s Lauren James and Aggie Beever-Jones, Manchester City’s Khiara Keating and Jess Park, Tottenham’s Grace Clinton, and Manchester United’s Maya Le Tissier.
These nominations showcases a remarkable season for both men’s and women’s football in England as it showcases an exciting lineup of talent from the top clubs. The winner of each category would be announced on Tuesday, August 20.
