Police Charge Regina Daniels’ Brother with Conspiracy, Assault and Theft

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command says it has charged Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, before a court in Abuja for alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, noting that the development followed a petition received by the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, against Ojeogwu and three others.

She said, “On 28th October 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against one Mr Samuel Ojeogwu and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.”

According to her, Ojeogwu failed to honour several police invitations before he was arrested in Lagos and taken to Abuja for investigation.

“Upon receipt of the petition, several invitations were extended to Mr Samuel Ojeogwu by the Metro Area Command for questioning, which were not honoured. Mr Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation,” Adeh said.

The police spokesperson added that after investigations were concluded, Ojeogwu was arraigned before a competent court in Abuja on November 6, 2025.

“Upon the conclusion of investigations, the suspect was on the 6th of November 2025 charged in court for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft. He has been remanded by the court pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions,” Adeh stated.

She reaffirmed the command’s commitment to professionalism and respect for the law, saying, “The FCT Police Command remains committed to professional policing, due process, and the rule of law.”

The development comes amid growing family tension surrounding Regina Daniels, who recently broke down in a viral video over her brother’s detention.

In the clip, she wept uncontrollably, saying, “I will go back,” while expressing pain over her family’s struggles.

Her outburst followed weeks of reports about marital troubles with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, whom she accused of domestic violence in an earlier social media post.

Nwoko, however, denied the allegations, blaming her behaviour on alleged drug and alcohol abuse. He stated that Regina’s “current battle with substance abuse” had caused strain in their marriage and insisted she undergo rehabilitation.

Amid the public exchanges, Regina celebrated the reconciliation of her estranged parents, noting that her mother and father, who had been apart for years, reunited in the wake of her personal and family crisis, especially her brother’s arrest.
