The 21-year-old athlete finished in 6th place in keenly contested race, which saw the USA’s Gabrielle Thomas clinch gold after clocking a time of 21.83 seconds.
Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia secured the silva medal, while Brittany Brown from the USA won the bronze medal.
Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita finished in fourth and fifth places, respectively, as Favour Ofili followed closely in 6th.
The emotional video, which has gone viral, has garnered reactions from Nigerians on social media.

Ofili had previously lamented about how she wasn’t registered for the women’s 100 meters despite qualifying for the race.
In a tweeted statement, the young athlete demanded accountability from the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) and the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) for the administrative error.
