River government Sole Administrator makes debut appearance at NEC meeting, meets other governors

Ibok-Ete Ibas, the Sole Administrator of River State on Thursday made his debut appearance at the National Economic Council meeting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.

Ibas during the meeting met with governors of various states including, Alex Otti of Abia State, Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, and Hyacinth Alia of Benue State among others.

The meeting presided over by Kashim Shettima, Nigeria’s vice president took place at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock.

An opening prayer for the meeting was said by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This meeting is Ibas’ first attendance to the NEC since his appointment as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu.

Recall that Ibas was appointed following the declaration of a state of emergency in the state and the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.
