Rivers Lawmakers Issue Misconduct Notice to Governor Fubara, Deputy

The Rivers State House of Assembly has issued a notice of gross misconduct allegations against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu.

In addition, the lawmakers have called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tammy Danagogo, over alleged extra-budgetary spending.

As part of their decision, the Assembly resolved to publish the misconduct allegations against Governor Fubara and Prof. Odu in three national newspapers.

The lawmakers, who are allies of former governor Nyesom Wike, have been in conflict with Governor Fubara following his assumption into office in 2023.

Last week, they frustrated his attempt to present the state’s 2025 budget, further escalating political tensions in the state.
