Saving Lives Impact Global Initiative Launches Humanitarian Drive to Free Victims of Unlawful Detention

The Saving Lives Impact Global Initiative (SLIGI) — CAC/IT/NO:117936 has announced the launch of a major humanitarian intervention aimed at rescuing, defending, and rehabilitating victims of illegal and unlawful detention across Nigeria and Africa.

Founded as a non-governmental, non-profit organization, SLIGI is dedicated to promoting human rights, legal equity, and humanitarian justice by offering pro-bono legal representation and humanitarian aid to individuals unjustly held without trial.

According to the organization’s founder, Comrade Onuoha Eberechukwu, “Our prisons are overflowing with people who have never been tried or convicted. Many are innocent but remain behind bars simply because they are poor or voiceless. SLIGI was born to stand in that gap to speak for the silent, to fight for the forgotten, and to restore freedom where injustice reigns.”

Core Objectives of SLIGI

1. To provide pro-bono legal defense and court representation to indigent detainees.

2. To support the release and rehabilitation of victims of unlawful detention.

3. To offer humanitarian and medical relief to detainees in inhumane prison conditions.

4. To promote justice reform and human rights awareness through community advocacy and public campaigns.

5. To partner with local and international agencies for the protection of fundamental freedoms.

Appeal for Public Support

The organization has called on individuals, corporate bodies, law firms, churches, and philanthropic foundations to support the cause financially and materially, noting that every contribution directly funds the legal and humanitarian rescue of unlawfully detained persons.
