Senator Natasha Submits Sexual Harassment Petition Against Akpabio [VIDEO]

The lawmaker representing Kogi Central in the Senate, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has formally submitted a petition accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.

The petition was laid before the Senate on Wednesday by the lawmaker.

The submission came after the Senate initially dismissed calls for an investigation, stating that no formal complaint had been filed on the floor of the chamber.

The Kogi senator arrived at the National Assembly complex alongside her husband.

Recall that in February, she was moved from her original seat in the minority section to the last row of the chamber. The relocation, which she strongly resisted, was justified by the Senate as a routine seating arrangement. However, her refusal to comply was deemed a violation of Senate rules, and she was subsequently referred to the disciplinary committee.

The controversy took a more serious turn when Akpoti-Uduaghan publicly alleged on live television that she was being targeted in the Senate because she had rejected alleged sexual advances from Akpabio.
