You may know that the victim, Justice Otuene, 20-year-old 300-level Biochemistry student of the University of Port Harcourt, was allegedly lured by her boyfriend, Damian Okoligwe, to his house where he killed and butchered her lifeless body, harvesting some parts probably for ritual purposes.

Uzor, told Daily Independent on Friday that he dropped off the deceased at her boyfriend’s house safely and received a cash payment for the chattered ride on Monday, October 9, 2023.

He further explained that his vehicle was thoroughly searched by estate security before he was allowed access into the estate where the suspect lived and searched again before he was allowed to leave, adding that he never had any interaction with the suspect.

He said, “On that 9th of October she booked for a ride at Eastern bye-pass. I took her to Harmony Estate at Eliozu, when I got to the estate, I parked because you cannot enter the estate without authorisation of someone inside.

“So when the lady got the permission to enter, that is Elizabeth, I entered the estate, parked at the residence she was going to, she offloaded her bags because she came with some goods, she paid me in cash and I drove off.

“When I entered the estate, I was checked by the security, when I was leaving, I was also checked. They checked everything in my car and gave me permission to leave the estate.”

Uzor lamented that he had been receiving threats from unknown persons who had been accusing him of being an accomplice in the death of the young lady.

“They have been calling, I now discovered that one of them is the uncle to the girl. After when I refused to meet them, they are now telling me that I am the bolt driver who took Elizabeth to so and so place. I have explained to them, that I dropped the girl and left.

“So since then, I have been getting calls and threats, like the uncle threatened me that I should better bring the girl alive that this one is bad market. He was saying other threats. I have not also received any call from the Police to come.

I came to Police station to say my own side of the story because the calls and threat is becoming too much. So I came to find out why the parents of the girl are threatening me. I have no hand in disappearance of the girl. So I came to Police station to complain.”

On his part, a human rights advocate, Prince Wiro who led the cab driver, Uzor to the Police station where he reported himself has urged the parents and relatives of the victim to stop attempting to secretly meet the cab driver, advising that they should rather allow the police to handle the matter.

Wiro, the National Coordinator of Centre for Basic Rights And Accountability Campaign said he encouraged and driver to submit himself to the police to aid investigations after the cab driver approached him..…CONTINUE.FULL.READING>>>
