Drama has erupted as Sophia Momodu’s lawyer, Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, slammed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against Afrobeats superstar Davido amid their ongoing child custody dispute.
Davido and Sophia have been locked in a legal battle over their daughter, Imade, since 2022. The fresh lawsuit reportedly stems from a tense court session on February 12, 2026, where Davido allegedly verbally attacked Enedah and later took to social media to describe her as the “worst lawyer ever.”
Her law firm, Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, is demanding a public apology, a retraction of the alleged defamatory statements, and ₦1 billion in damages. According to court documents, Davido has been issued a seven-day ultimatum to comply.
The custody dispute intensified in April 2024 when Davido filed a suit at the Lagos State High Court seeking joint custody of Imade, claiming Sophia had denied him access to their daughter.
In response, Sophia alleged that the singer had not seen Imade since July 2022 and had failed to meet his financial responsibilities, leaving her to shoulder expenses such as school fees and rent alone.
The situation further escalated after Davido withdrew the case, citing an unpleasant remark made by Sophia’s lawyer in court that referenced his late son, Ifeanyi.
