Soso Soberekon Recounts Scary Moment as Helicopter Flew Over His Area: “We Thought American Soldiers Had Arrived”

Music executive Soso Soberekon has shared an incident that caused tension in his area.

According to a post on his Instagram story, an helicopter flew over his compound, prompting people around to run indoors in fear.

The sudden sight and loud sound of the aircraft reportedly created confusion among residents who thought American soldiers had arrived in Nigeria following recent international tensions.

He wrote: “Helicopter fly pass my compound today, everybody run enter house. We think say American soldiers don come already.”

Naija News reports that his comments came shortly after Trump threatened military action in Nigeria, alleging that Christians were being killed by radical Islamists.

The U.S. president said he had directed the American military to prepare for possible intervention and announced that Nigeria would be listed as a “Country of Particular Concern” for failing to protect religious freedom.

Trump also warned that the United States could suspend all aid to Nigeria and might “go in guns blazing” if the Nigerian government fails to stop the killings.

His statement, which has stirred global debate, accused the Nigerian authorities of ignoring what he described as a genocide against Christians.

The Nigerian government has since rejected Trump’s claims, describing them as misleading and exaggerated.

Officials said the violence in Nigeria affects both Christians and Muslims, adding that the conflicts are driven by terrorism, banditry, and farmer-herder clashes rather than religion.
