Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have rescued a driver, and passengers with various degree of injuries after a loaded containerized trailer rammed into an unpainted commercial bus (FKJ 366 XT) on outer Marina road.
The Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, in a statement said that the accident occurred at about 7:02am on Thursday, November 2, 2023, on outer Marina road as a result of over-speeding which led to a brake failure.
“Immediately the accident happened, our personnel who were along the axis quickly moved to the scene to rescue the occupants of the trapped commercial bus ( driver and passengers) with the support of sympathetic road users,” the statement read.
“Mr. Adebayo confirmed that Policemen from Lion Building led by D.C.O provided security backup while the rescue operations lasted.
“According to Lastma Ashafa Moyosore (Zebra 1, Olowu) who led the rescue operations “all rescued passengers including the driver were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment”
“The General Manager of LASTMA Mr Bolaji Oreagba, however warned motoring public particularly commercial bus drivers to exercise caution, restraint, and adhere to speed limit while driving on Lagos road especially at this period of ember months.”.…CONTINUE.FULL.READING>>>
