Speaking in an exclusive interview with News Central, Peter Obi expressed disappointment in the cost of governance in the country, highlighting the cost of several personal government projects, which he called “criminal and unacceptable”
In his words, “The cost of governance and their ways today is criminal and unacceptable. You wake up in the morning, they tell you we’ve bought this new car. The overhead for the entire agricultural ministry is less than 10 billion. By the time you add 160 for new jets, 21 billion for a new VP house, 16 billion for the Library of National Assembly, 16 billion for their clinic, and all other furnishings, you find out you are gradually at 250+ billion. 95% of the politicians are the same.”
He further demanded a shutdown of the office of the first lady, adding that they were not voted into office.
“Shut down the office of first lady because they have more money than some in the ministry. Nobody voted for this woman, she’s my wife.”
Peter Obi also blamed President Bola Tinubu for the collapsing economy when asked where the cause of the economic hardship was directed.
“Clearly, on the man who is in charge, who is marked the declared winner.”
