The Truth About June 12 Is Bigger Than What Nigerians Know – Al-Mustapha Says

Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former chief security officer to the late military ruler General Sani Abacha, has stated that the true story behind the events of June 12 is far more complex than what the public has been led to believe.

He made the statement during an interview with the BBC, where he spoke on various national issues, including his time in government, the death of Abacha, and his political plans.

Speaking about the 1993 June 12 presidential election, which is widely regarded as the freest and fairest in Nigeria’s history, Al-Mustapha said, “The issue of June 12 is bigger than how people understand it. What happened that time is not something the public really knows. And I am not ready to speak about it now.”

When asked about former military president General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida’s book and the claims made in it, Al-Mustapha said he was not invited to the book launch and had not read the book.

He added that he would rather not comment until he is better informed.

“I was not invited when the book was launched. I have not read it, so I won’t say anything for now, maybe later,” he said.Read The Full Article/Content Here.
