Tinubu spares no effort to ensure peace, security, says Information minister

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is sparing no effort in securing peace and stability as essential pillars for national development, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, affirmed on Wednesday in Abuja.

Speaking during his inaugural address as Chairman of the Board of the Niger State Development Forum (NSDF), an independent, non-partisan advisory body committed to the development of Niger State, Idris emphasized that peace and security are foundational to any meaningful progress.

He said: “No development can occur without peace and security. This is a reality well understood by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose administration continues to invest significantly in these critical sectors as part of a comprehensive strategy to transform Nigeria.”

He noted the interdependence of peace, security, infrastructure, and development:

“These elements are not just interconnected—they are mutually reinforcing. President Tinubu has made it clear that security is not optional; it is the bedrock upon which all other aspects of national progress must rest.

“That is why under his leadership, the Federal Government is deploying all necessary resources and commitment to fortify our national security architecture,” he said.

The Minister praised the former NSDF Chairman, Ambassador Zubairu Dada, for his leadership and pledged to build on the progress made under his tenure.

He reiterated his commitment to leveraging the Forum’s collective expertise to support Niger State Governor Umar Bago in advancing the state’s development agenda.

His words: “We are a non-political, impartial body—and that is our strength. Our diversity in experience and perspective allows us to serve as both bridge and catalyst: linking state with federal institutions, public with private sector, vision with action.”
