The 20-year-old joined the Blues in a deal worth £35 million on Wednesday, August 7.
The deal will see Conor Gallagher move in the opposite direction.
The Blues have been linked with a move for the Omorodion in the past but reignited their interest in the young striker earlier this week.
Omorodion is expected to sign a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge. He is part of Spain’s U-23 team currently competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The player joins the growing list of potential talents signed by the Blues since Todd Boehly took over the reins of the London club.
Omorodion, who spent last season on loan at La Liga club Alaves, was born in Spain to Nigerian parents.
He registered eight goals and one assist in 35 games for the La Liga outfit.
