UCL: I’m sad – Barcelona manager, Flick blames referee after Inter Milan’s 4-3 win

Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick has criticized Polish referee, Szymon Marciniak following his side’s UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg 4-3 defeat to Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Flick, who expressed sadness, said Marciniak awarded the fouls to Inter Milan in every 50/50 decison during the encounter at San Siro.

Goals from Lautaro Martinez, Hakan Calhanoglu, Eric Garcia, Dani Olmo, Raphinha and Francesco Acerbi ensured the match ended in a 3-3 draw after 90 minutes.

However, Davide Fratessi scored in the first half of extra time to send Inter to the Champions League final where they will face Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal.

“In the second half we were really good. I don’t want to speak about the referee but every 50/50 decision was for them,” Flick said at his post-match interview after the game.

“We gave everything but in the end it was like that and that is what made me a bit sad.

“I don’t like talking about the referee. I have told him what I think, but I’m not going to say it here what I have said.”

Barcelona will now face Real Madrid in the La Liga El Clasico on Sunday.
