Namibia and Angola earlier agreed on returns after the threat of visa penalties, but the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) delayed coordination efforts since late 2025.
To pressure the DRC, Britain stripped its officials and other VIPs of preferential visa treatment and revoked fast-track visa processing services for all nationals.
The UK said the decision of the nations to take back their people proved the effectiveness of the visa ban threat and the reforms set out last November.
