Verydarkman tearfully apologizes to Mercy Chinwo following N1.1bn lawsuit

Controversial social critic Verydarkman has tearfully and sarcastically apologized to gospel singer Mercy Chinwo following a N1.1 billion lawsuit filed against him.

The lawsuit, dated March 3, was filed in response to a series of Instagram posts by Verydarkman (VDM), in which he accused Chinwo of withholding earnings from her performances instead of remitting them to her former record label, owned by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, popularly known as EeZee Tee.

Reacting to the lawsuit, VDM took to Instagram to list about seven individuals who have taken legal action against him, lamenting that he cannot afford to fulfill all the financial demands.

In a dramatic display, he shed tears while pleading with Mercy Chinwo, humorously singing some of her songs and asking her to reduce the lawsuit amount to N5 million, which he claims he can afford.

“Una go kee me, the money wey dey inside the NGO sef no reach that amount. I know this case is not a case I can go on, so it is better I tender an apology. Mercy, don’t let the devil use you. I don’t have N1bn to pay in case you win. Abeg, I am not saying you should not sue, reduce the money, maybe to N5m,” he stated.
