The reigning Turkish champions were looking to return to winning ways after only managing a 1-1 draw at AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

However, Eyüpspor did not get the memo as the visitors took the lead in the 13th minute courtesy of Emre Akbaba’s close range finish.

Osimhen came close to levelling matters for Galatasaray only seven minutes later but his well-placed effort hit the left post and bounced out to safety.

Galatasaray would not be denied for long, though, as Baris Alper struck the equaliser on the stroke of halftime.

Merely two minutes into the second half, Osimhen grabbed his assist after he set up Roland Sallai to net Galatasaray’s second goal of the evening.

However, with 20 minutes left on the clock, Eyüpspor made it 2-2 through Prince Ampem against the run of play.

Osimhen then thought he had won a penalty kick for Galatasaray after he was clipped by his marker inside the opponents’ danger area.

Strangely, though, Turkish referee Oğuzhan Çakır deemed the foul on Osimhen not worthy of a penalty call to the displeasure of the home fans.

Despite the draw, Galatasaray remain seated at the top of the Turkish Super Lig table with 35 points from their 13 matches, boasting a six-point lead on second-place Fenerbahce.

However, Fenerbahce could cut that advantage down to three points with a victory over Gaziantep FK on Monday.
