Traditional leaders from the Southeast region of the country have thrown their support behind the second-term ambition of President Bola Tinubu.
The leaders under the aegis of Ndi Igbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Council said victory is sure for the president in 2027.
Led by the chairman of the group, His Royal Majesty, Eze Nnamdi Oforegbu from Abia State, the traditional leaders assured the president of 70 per cent votes from the region.
The traditional leaders gave the assurance to the president during their visit to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu in Umuahia, Abia State’s capital city.
Oforegbu during the visit commended Kalu for showcasing capacity as a lawmaker and his effort towards championing development in the Southeast region.
Stating that Kalu has exceeded their expectations, the monarchs also appreciated President Tinubu’s effort and support towards infrastructural development in the region.
He said, “We want to meet the President and thank him. He became our deputy speaker, gave us SEDC, and gave Ndi Igbo many other developments and appointments.
“We assure him of our votes, 70 per cent of our votes in the next election. We are promising you we are behind you, keep succeeding. If there’s anywhere you need us to speak, let us know, and we will be there. We see all you’re doing. We are with you. May God bless you,” Oforegbu noted.
