‘We don’t want him’ – Kano APC youths reject Kwankwaso’s rumoured return

Youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have said that they are not interested in the return of Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano state to the party.

The youths under the aegis of the APC Youth and Students Council (KASASCO) said Kwankwaso’s return to the party is of no benefit to the APC, its members or the people of Kano state.

Addressing journalists at a press conference in Kano on Tuesday, the group said the Kwankwaso is losing his political relevance and APC has no need for him.

According to KASASCO, the Kano State chapter of the APC under the leadership of Abdullahi Abba is thriving and is backed by two sitting senators, and many members in the House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly.

The group further stated that Kwankwaso’s brainchild, the New Nigeria Peoples Party is suffering massive defection with many of its strong pillars already joining the APC.

“Kwankwaso’s political relevance has come to an end. He now seeks political refuge by any means, knowing that only the APC could provide him cover.

“But the APC is not a refugee organisation, nor is it seeking the likes of Kwankwaso, whose presence could only disrupt the unity and progress of the party”, KASASCO said.
