White House Revises Historical Timeline, Mentions Bill Clinton Scandal and Cocaine Incident
White House Updates Timeline to Include Bill Clinton Scandal and Cocaine Discovery
The Trump administration has updated the official White House website’s historical timeline, but instead of focusing solely on architectural milestones, the revisions include politically charged references to scandals and controversies involving the last three Democratic presidents.
The online timeline, which traces the history of the White House from its construction in the late 18th century to the present day, now features entries that highlight moments unrelated to the building’s structure, including President Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky, which led to his impeachment.
Two events from President Joe Biden’s tenure were also added: the discovery of cocaine in a White House locker in 2023, an incident the Trump administration’s site implies was connected to Hunter Biden despite no evidence, and the Trans Visibility Day celebration hosted on the White House lawn.
That event sparked backlash after transgender influencer Rose Montoya exposed her chest during the gathering, leading to her ban from the premises.

Another controversial addition centers on the Obama administration. The updated timeline references a 2012 visit by Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood to the White House following the Arab Spring, accompanied by a misleading photo of Barack Obama wearing a turban.
The image, however, was taken in 2006 during Obama’s visit to Kenya, years before he became president, and he never met with members of the Egyptian Brotherhood directly, making the depiction doubly inaccurate.

The changes appear to be a pointed response to Democratic criticism over Trump’s latest White House renovation, a $250 million grand ballroom project that some lawmakers have denounced as excessive and damaging to the East Wing’s historic structure. The Trump administration has defended the renovation, arguing that the White House has undergone many changes over time and that the new ballroom is a continuation of that evolution.
The move has further inflamed tensions between Democrats and Republicans, raising concerns that it could complicate efforts to end the ongoing government shutdown.
