Governor Zulum met separately with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar.

The meetings, whose details were not disclosed to the public, focused on reinforcing joint military operations, enhancing intelligence coordination, and formulating a robust response to the recent spike in terrorist attacks across Borno State.

According to sources familiar with the discussions, the governor urged for greater synergy among the military branches and immediate action to curtail escalating threats posed by insurgent groups targeting both civilians and security infrastructure.

The engagements come in the wake of an expanded security council meeting held in Maiduguri earlier this week, where Governor Zulum decried the growing frequency of terror attacks and warned of dire consequences if urgent steps are not taken.

The governor was joined in Abuja by a delegation of federal lawmakers and state officials, including Senators Mohammed Ali Ndume (Borno South), Mohammed Tahir Monguno (Borno North), and Kaka Shehu Lawan (Borno Central). Members of the House of Representatives, Mukhtar Betera Aliyu and Engr Bukar Talba, as well as the State Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar, were also in attendance.
