Dele Momodu, the Publisher of Ovation Magazine says he has not spoken to President Bola Tinubu in three years.

Momodu who was a member of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) alongside the president during the fight for democracy against Sani Abacha’s regime disclosed that he does not have a relationship with the former Lagos State Governor.

He made this comment in an interview on Arise TV on Thursday, August 8 in response to questions from co-host Rufai Oseni.

Rufai Oseni: Do you still have a personal relationship with him

Dele Momodu: No

Rufai Oseni: When last did you message him?

Dele Momodu: Maybe over three years ago.

Rufai Oseni: Do you still have his number?

Dele Momodu: I wouldn’t know if it will work but I have not bothered and not necessary.

The Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) added: “The ideology of the NADECO struggle has nothing to do with Tinubu or a political party, it was a general struggle against the military. We wanted democracy so my relationship with him was more at the level of NADECO.”

“We were fighting for the revalidation of the June 12 election which was annulled. When he came back, he became governor and I have no relationship at that level. But occasionally, we might meet at functions but we are not close politically”.
