Xabi Alonso eyes Boniface for Real Madrid move

Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has reportedly included Nigerian striker Victor Boniface on his list of potential signings for Real Madrid next season.

The Spanish tactician has been tipped to replace Carlo Ancelotti in the Santiago Bernabéu dugout next season.

The former Liverpool midfielder is keen on signing a center forward for Los Blancos should he secure the managerial role.

According to Telemadrid via Fichajes, the 43-year-old has recommended two strikers from his current Bayer Leverkusen squad including Nigeria’s Victor Boniface and Czech international Patrik Schick.

Another striker on Alonso’s radar is Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres.

Boniface has recorded 11 goals and two assists in 27 competitive appearances for Leverkusen this season.

The Super Eagles striker came close to joining Al Nassr in January but the deal fell through after the Saudi Pro League side opted to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa.
